Printing Guidelines for Rigid PackagingUpdated 2 months ago

Rigid packaging is produced using a different process to our standard mailer boxes and cardboard formats. This allows for sharper print detail, premium finishes, and more precise colour control — perfect for high-end or design-led packaging.

If you're ordering custom rigid boxes, the guidelines below apply.

What you can expect:

  • Pantone (PMS) colours can be matched accurately
Just supply the code when submitting artwork

  • Text can remain sharp and ultra-fine
We can print intricate linework, serif fonts and thin weights with precision

  • Solid black areas print deep and rich
You can use either rich black or full black tones, depending on the material finish

  • Photographic and high-resolution imagery is supported
Just ensure your file is saved at 300dpi and CMYK format

  1. Supply artwork as a PDF with all fonts outlined

  2. Use CMYK or Pantone colour values as required

  3. Ensure all images are embedded (not linked)

  4. Include 5mm bleed on all sides

  5. Clearly label all versions or variations (if multiple SKUs)

If you’re unsure which material or print finish best suits your design, our team can recommend options based on your goals — including foil, spot UV, textured laminates, and more.

Rigid box orders are reviewed manually before production. We'll always supply a final proof and confirm details before going ahead.
